Fingerprints (Only Biometric Model)

Fingerprint TIPS!

Your safe can store up to 20 unique fingerprints. The 1st and 2nd fingerprints will be recognized as administrative fingerprints and will be used to authorize additional users.

STEP 1 : Programming Admin Print 1 of 2

STEP 2 : Programming Additional Prints 3 to 20

Before programming lets cover a few tips.

1) Place the core of the fingerprint flat over the center of the scanner. This allows the scanner to read where most of the fingerprint detail is located.

2) Rotate your finger slightly between registration scans to store print variations for increased accuracy.

3) Biometric technology is dependent on our anatomical information, and in some cases different fingers may program better than others. For example, your index finger may not register very well, but your thumb may contain higher detail levels and have a much higher success rate. We suggest to try different fingers including your thumb and see if you have better results.

4) To increase success rate register the same finger multiple times. Note, that adding more than two fingerprints requires authorization from the two administrative prints.

Troubleshooting! If you are having difficulty with your print, program the same fingerprint 4 or 5 times. You have 20 slots available for programming and you can also try your thumb as it has more surface area to read.

Troubleshooting! If you are experiencing a low success rate. Delete the fingerprints on safe and start over.

Having issues? Please email our support team at support@vaulteksafe.com. They would be more than happy to help you out!

Programming Admin Fingerprints (1 and 2)

Your safe can store up to 20 unique fingerprints. The 1st and 2nd fingerprints will be recognized as administrative fingerprints and will be used to authorize additional users 3 to 20. Let’s enroll the first two admin prints in the safe. Before programming lets cover a few tips.

Fingerprint TIPS!

STEP 1 : Programming Admin Print 1 of 2

1) Tap the “PROGRAM” button. The fingerprint LED will turn solid RED  and the ‘1’ key on the keypad will start blinking RED.

2) When the 1 key starts blinking place your finger for scan, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.

3) This completes enrollment for the second admin print.

STEP 2 : Programming Admin Print 2 of 2

1) Tap the “PROGRAM” button. The fingerprint LED will turn solid RED  and the ‘1’ key on the keypad will start blinking RED.

2) When the 1 key starts blinking place your finger for scan, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.

3) This completes enrollment for the second admin print.

Once both admin prints are enrolled you can program additional prints. Your safe can store up to 20 unique fingerprints. To program addition prints refer to “Programming Additional Prints (3-20)”.

Having issues? Please email our support team at support@vaulteksafe.com. They would be more than happy to help you out!

Programming Additional Fingerprints (3 to 20)

After the first two Admin fingerprints have been locked in, you can add additional users or fingerprints, up to 20 unique users in total. This is very helpful in the event the fingerprint scanner is having a hard time reading your initial fingerprints, or if you wish to grant other users authorized access to your safe. Any additional users programmed require authorization from one of the two Admin fingerprints.

1) Tap the “PROGRAM” button.

2) When all keys (1-5) are blinking RED scan one of the administrative fingerprints

3) Place one of the first two programmed administrative fingerprints on the scanner and remove when the safe beeps and the fingerprint LED blinks GREEN.

Tip! If the administrative print is left on the scanner too long the safe will begin to program that fingerprint into the safe again and not the NEW fingerprint. If this happens start over with step one.

4) When the ‘1’ key starts blinking RED you can enroll a NEW fingerprint.

5) Place finger again over the scanner at a slightly different angle until the safe beeps and the ‘2’ key lights up GREEN and lift. You will repeat this process until all keys (1-5) are solid GREEN.

Tip! Repeat steps 1 through 4 to add additional fingerprints.

Troubleshooting! If you are having difficulty with your print, program the same fingerprint 4 or 5 times. You have 20 slots available for programming and you can also try your thumb as it has more surface area to read.

Delete Fingerprints

Individual fingerprints can not be deleted from the keypad on the safe. Following this procedure will erase all of the fingerprints including both administrative fingerprints. If you wish to delete individual fingerprints, refer to the Vaultek Bluetooth 2.0 app. This procedure will not affect the keypad master code.

1) Press and hold the ‘1’ key then the “PROGRAM” button together until all the keys (1-5) light up RED and let go.

2) Immediately enter your master code on the keypad.

3) If the code is correct, all the keys will blink GREEN and safe will beep indicating deletion of all the fingerprints.

Low Success Rate

Try the following if you are experiencing a low success rate with the fingerprint scanner. Let’s perform a soft reset of the scanner by deleting the fingerprints on the safe.

STEP 1 : Perform a Soft Reset

1) Press and hold the ‘1’ key then the “PROGRAM” button together until all the keys (1-5) light up RED and let go.

2) Immediately enter your master code on the keypad.

3) If the code is correct, all the keys will blink GREEN and safe will beep indicating deletion of all the fingerprints.

TIP! This will remove all the fingerprints. You can delete individual fingerprints in the Vaultek Bluetooth app.

3) Then remove the battery and reinstall.

Now let’s try reprogramming your fingerprint using the helpful tips below.

Fingerprint TIPS!

STEP 2 : Program the First Print

Your safe can store up to 20 unique fingerprints. The 1st and 2nd fingerprints will be recognized as administrative fingerprints and will be used to authorize additional users 3 to 20. Let’s enroll the first admin print in the safe.

TIP! Repeat these steps to enroll the second admin print.

Programming Fingerprints

Nano Key 2.0 Biometric is capable of storing 20 prints. The first print is the Admin print. This print is necessary to authorize additional prints and authorize the deletion of all prints.

Before programming the fingerprints to Nano Key 2.0 Biometric lets cover a few tips.

Fingerprint TIPS!

STEP 1 : Programming the Admin Print

The first programmed fingerprint is considered the Admin print. This print is necessary to authorize adding in additional users or to authorize the deletion of all prints.

1) Quickly press the top PROGRAM button. The LED ring will turn solid RED indicating you can place your finger on the scanner for the first of (3) registration scans.

2) Place your thumb or finger on the scanner, when you hear a confirmation beep and the LED ring flashes GREEN, lift your finger and repeat two more registration scans to complete programming for the first user.

STEP 2 : Programming Additional Prints

After the Admin print has been locked in, you can add additional users or fingerprints, up to 20 unique users in total. This is very helpful in the event Nano Key Biometric 2.0 is having a hard time reading your initial print, or if you wish to grant other users authorized access to your safe.

1) Quickly press the top PROGRAM button. The LED ring will turn solid YELLOW requesting you to place the Admin print on the scanner to authorize the request.

2) When successful, you will hear a confirmation beep and the LED ring will flash GREEN then back to RED indicating you can proceed with the first of (3) registration scans for additional prints.

Tip! Repeat these steps to program additional users. A total of 19 fingerprints can be programmed outside the first Admin print.

Troubleshooting! If you hear two beeps and the LED ring stays RED, the scan was not accepted and you will need to start again.

You are now ready to pair Nano Key 2.0 Biometric to your safe.

Having issues? Please email our support team at support@vaulteksafe.com. They would be more than happy to help you out!

Low Fingerprint Success Rate

You can delete individual fingerprints in the Vaultek Bluetooth 2.0 app.

4) Then remove the battery and reinstall.

Now let’s try reprogramming your fingerprint using the helpful tips below.

Fingerprint TIPS!

STEP 2 : Program the First Print

Your safe can store up to 20 unique fingerprints. The 1st and 2nd fingerprints will be recognized as administrative fingerprints and will be used to authorize additional users 3 to 20. Let’s enroll the first admin print in the safe.

TIP! Repeat these steps to enroll the second admin print.

Pairing Bluetooth 2.0 App to Safe Failed

Important! Make sure you are using the Vaultek Bluetooth 2.0 app. This app is different from Vaultek’s Bluetooth and WiFi app.

Important! If you change your safe’s master code after pairing, the safe will no longer connect to your app, and you will be prompted to enter the new code when needed.

Important! As a security measure, if too many incorrect master code entries are entered, your safe’s Bluetooth will disable and must be toggled ON again using the hot key sequence.

Important! Only compatible with Bluetooth 2.0 Vaultek safes. Not sure if your safe is Bluetooth 2.0? Look for the Bluetooth 2.0 icon mark on the outside of the packaging or on the the safe.

1) Get the App. Android users can download the app from Google Play and Apple users can download from the Apple App Store. This app is different from Vaultek’s Bluetooth and WiFi app. Be sure to look for the Vaultek Bluetooth 2.0 app.

Important! Make sure your Bluetooth settings in your phone are toggled ON.

Important! You must be within Bluetooth range of the safe to pair. The approximate range is 25 feet.

TIP! The initial app screens will guide your setup.

2) Open the app to begin pairing.

3) Create a pattern lock. This can be disabled later.

4) Add your safe.

5) Select your safe from the list.

6) Follow the on screen prompts to pair.

Once paired to your safe you can perform a number of functions including changing the safe name, manage fingerprints, disable pattern lock, manage smart key, adjust the interior light duration, and more.

TIP! This pairing sequence offers enhanced security protection and will allow up to ten different phones to pair with your safe.

By default the unlock feature on the app will be disabled. The unlock feature will be disabled by default. If you wish to enable this feature, press and hold keys ‘1’ ‘4’ and program button together for 3 seconds. Once enabled you will be able to unlock the safe within Bluetooth range. Repeat the sequence to disable the unlock feature.

This pairing sequence offers enhanced security protection and can only be used to pair one phone to your safe. If the process is repeated with a different phone, the previous phone will be overridden and disconnected from the safe.

Note, Vaultek does not in any way access your personal data (including photos, locations, contacts, etc). The app requires permissions to store certain preferences such as safe settings and fingerprint ID names in the memory of your phone. It also uses the Bluetooth function of your phone for wireless communication with your safe.

Don't See Safe in Device List

Important! Make sure you are using the Vaultek Bluetooth 2.0 app and not the Vaultek WiFi app.

1) The device name you may be seeing in the “Select Your Safe” is the default name assigned to the safe. Example: “VAULTEK-1B7A”. Select that and once you successfully pair you can change the name.

Why do I have to re-pair my app?

There are two reasons why you have to re-pair your safe to the Vaultek Bluetooth 2.0 app.

A) In the event an authorized user paired another phone to your safe you will be prompted to re-pair. The safe is designed to pair with one phone at a time.

B) In the event an authorized user changed the safe’s master code after pairing, the safe will no longer connect to your app, and you will be prompted to enter the new code when needed.
