Description
The DSE5i is the Biometric Essential Model version of the Vaultek Smart Station DS5 model, featuring larger interior capacity than the smaller DS2 line. The DSE5i simplifies the overall design to essential functions. The safe features a high-resolution biometric scanner, Smart Senseâ„¢ keypad, and a functional front-facing clock. There are also accessory charging ports, dual USB and dual USB-C ports, on the safe's backside for accessory charging. The DSE5i shares Vaultek's industry-leading safe engineering and signature fit and finish, offering a fresh new larger variation for the Smart Station safe series.
- ESSENTIAL SERIES SMART STATION Simplified design features dual USB/USB-C accessory charging ports in the back, and a sleek front-facing functional clock. Low-profile safe design blends into its environment, great for RVs or nightstands. The auto-open safe drawer can secure 2 full size pistols (up to 10.875"), jewelry, small documents, and other personal belongings. PRECISION BALL BEARING RAIL SYSTEM automatically deploys the safe open quickly with smooth and silent action. BUILT-IN LED INTERIOR LIGHT illuminates the interior.
- HIGH RESOLUTION BIOMETRIC SCANNER Quick, secure access using the Biometric scanner or touch-sensitive 8-digit Smart Senseâ„¢ keypad. Safe can detect tampering and activate a security sleep mode if multiple wrong codes are entered.
- ANTI-THEFT FEATURES Signature anti-impact latch design, anti-pry construction, and included HD steel security cable can tether the safe in place. Accessory mounting plate sold separately for hard mounting the safe in place. Â
- BACKUP BATTERY Safe is powered by an AC power adapter (included) and needs to be left plugged in for charging accessories. In the event of a power outage, 2 AAA batteries (not included) provide short-term backup power. Manual backup keys are included.Â

The charging port has stop work 3 time I’ve sent it in for repairs twice if didn’t have that problem it would be great

I have a 2023 4Runner TRD Pro rigged out for overlanding and camping. The rear cargo tray slides out and also has two power sources with a built in inverter. I use one side for my ICECO fridge. Plenty of room left to use a mounting plate for the Smart Vault DSE5i. It’s a clean and effective mount. My handguns are secure even if there was a vehicle intrusion.

Nice size, packaging, and sleek look. Very quiet operation on sliding into position. The programming takes time and patience to enable the settings and is difficult - especially the biometric printing. Overall sturdy and good value just tricky to learn, set, and reset features.

Love it. Does the job. Springs open quick with fingerprint. Says not to use rechargeable AAA batteries, which is a bummer. Only alkaline. So I did not put batteries in mine. Will never use alkaline batteries again secondary to possible corrosion. However, i understand it is built that way. Highly recommend.

I followed the link on the DSE5i, but am unable to synch my smart phone (iPhone12) there is no troubleshooting guide to get past that step, and there is not a link to get to that specific model in the support guides, so I cannot tell if I am even doing the correct steps.

This is a great safe to carry my gun in the car or personal documents. I received my first one and it was damaged. I called the company. They immediately sent me a replacement. I didn’t have to return the damaged one. They just said pitch it, so I did. This is a great little safe. It’s made of harden steel. I’m able to use my thumbprint or combination or key and the cable is great in case I want to lock it in the car

I like the looks and function of the safe, my only real issue is that the wireless charger is circular like a magsafe charger, but it does not have a magnet to help place your phone in the correct position.

I purchased a refurbished life pod for my wife. I had it sent to her as a just because surprise. The color is teal, which I knew she would like. The ordering was easy and painless. When arrived I helped her set it up. This would be the 3rd safe I've purchased from. Them,and I've use their customer service for help before, with positive experience. Keep up the great work.

Great safe! Fast shipping. The only (very minor) spot I see for improvement is the screws for floor mounting. The provided Philips head screws are unusable in the very tight corners. I went to the hardware store and got a few bolts as replacements (the same size and form factor other than the heads), which made ratcheting it down much more accessible. I recommend they change what they ship to make it easier to mount. The more challenging part was pairing with my Wi-Fi network. I had to set up a separate guest network to get connected. I recommend they update the Wi-Fi module to make this more compatible with modern Wi-Fi.

I purchased a LifePod for a TSA Approved firearm case. The features of being waterproof, 2 ways of access (keypad & keys) and portability are awesome. It looks to be very well built and durable. I will be purchasing other LifePods in the future and highly recommend their products.

The ability to customize, and change configurations to meet my needs is the most important aspect of this safe. The software integration is also fantastic.

Great all around so far. I would have liked a notch for the cable on both sides so there is better night stand placement when you sleep on the left side. Biometrics was easy to setup and is working consistently.
