Description
The DSE5i is the Biometric Essential Model version of the Vaultek Smart Station DS5 model, featuring larger interior capacity than the smaller DS2 line. The DSE5i simplifies the overall design to essential functions. The safe features a high-resolution biometric scanner, Smart Senseâ„¢ keypad, and a functional front-facing clock. There are also accessory charging ports, dual USB and dual USB-C ports, on the safe's backside for accessory charging. The DSE5i shares Vaultek's industry-leading safe engineering and signature fit and finish, offering a fresh new larger variation for the Smart Station safe series.
- ESSENTIAL SERIES SMART STATION Simplified design features dual USB/USB-C accessory charging ports in the back, and a sleek front-facing functional clock. Low-profile safe design blends into its environment, great for RVs or nightstands. The auto-open safe drawer can secure 2 full size pistols (up to 10.875"), jewelry, small documents, and other personal belongings. PRECISION BALL BEARING RAIL SYSTEM automatically deploys the safe open quickly with smooth and silent action. BUILT-IN LED INTERIOR LIGHT illuminates the interior.
- HIGH RESOLUTION BIOMETRIC SCANNER Quick, secure access using the Biometric scanner or touch-sensitive 8-digit Smart Senseâ„¢ keypad. Safe can detect tampering and activate a security sleep mode if multiple wrong codes are entered.
- ANTI-THEFT FEATURES Signature anti-impact latch design, anti-pry construction, and included HD steel security cable can tether the safe in place. Accessory mounting plate sold separately for hard mounting the safe in place. Â
- BACKUP BATTERY Safe is powered by an AC power adapter (included) and needs to be left plugged in for charging accessories. In the event of a power outage, 2 AAA batteries (not included) provide short-term backup power. Manual backup keys are included.Â

The charging port has stop work 3 time I’ve sent it in for repairs twice if didn’t have that problem it would be great

I have a 2023 4Runner TRD Pro rigged out for overlanding and camping. The rear cargo tray slides out and also has two power sources with a built in inverter. I use one side for my ICECO fridge. Plenty of room left to use a mounting plate for the Smart Vault DSE5i. It’s a clean and effective mount. My handguns are secure even if there was a vehicle intrusion.

Nice size, packaging, and sleek look. Very quiet operation on sliding into position. The programming takes time and patience to enable the settings and is difficult - especially the biometric printing. Overall sturdy and good value just tricky to learn, set, and reset features.

Love it. Does the job. Springs open quick with fingerprint. Says not to use rechargeable AAA batteries, which is a bummer. Only alkaline. So I did not put batteries in mine. Will never use alkaline batteries again secondary to possible corrosion. However, i understand it is built that way. Highly recommend.

I followed the link on the DSE5i, but am unable to synch my smart phone (iPhone12) there is no troubleshooting guide to get past that step, and there is not a link to get to that specific model in the support guides, so I cannot tell if I am even doing the correct steps.
