Slider Series - Essential

Just purchased the SL2i and having to return it the same day. The safe does appear to be great quality but unfortunately the Fitment Guide did not say the lower half of the Optics Pocket was narrower. Therefore, my Glock 17 Gen 6 with a Holosun 507C-X3 would not fit as the optics hit about 1/2 way down the optics pocket and the door would not close. I am bummed. Off to look for another safe!

Locked myself out due to my own fault and couldn’t find the key. Customer service was exceptional and it wound up that I had to breach the unit to open it. It’s a pretty tough little fellow! You don’t have to worry about someone casually getting it open. I would highly recommend Vaulteksafe!

Works great.

Easy to install. Heavy duty. I rest easy knowing my kids aren’t going to access my gun. I installed this on my key and wallet drawer so I can grab my EDC as I’m walking out the door every day. Very convenient. It’s also nice that it is portable so I could mount a bracket in my car or on my nightstand and move the slider safe as necessary.

Made in China! If I knew the bit of information at time of purchase would've gone with an Amazon special also made in China but half the price.

Great Safe! Excellent Customer Service. Safe purchased ~2 years ago failed. The team sent a new power cord, and when that did not fix the issue, they helped me ship it back for repair. Quick turn around as well! 10/10

First of all I have three vaultek. I love their reliability. I have one in each of my cars. I have a slider on the side of my bed. The access is so fast it is amazing. As far as the customer service goes I was looking for a nano button for my slider. My slider was a little bit on the older side and the 2.0 and the 3.0 wouldn't work. I called customer service and they were fantastic they told me Unfortunately they were out of stock but they told me exactly what to do. I must say everything worked out perfect and they were fantastic.

The level of control and security i have is why i chose the system. Everything is exactly like i expected.

I'm glad I decided to purchase this safe; it works well for my specific needs but I feel that it may not be right for many people. The good: The biometric reader seems to work very well for me. I had read reviews that complained about consistency and I have not observed that problem. The safe stores enough fingerprints you can just double-triple the same finger with different locations for reliable access. The safe is lightweight enough to be installed solo, but still sturdy and secure I like the VISN app for real time status monitoring + access/impact/humidity alerts The OK: The keypad only has digits 1~8. I don't really understand what reasoning was behind the decision to omit digits 0 and 9 from a full size safe Push notifications from safe alerts are nice but can't reliably give real-time notifications (I assume network traffic plays a part in this). Notifications will be received within seconds at times, but up to 20-minute delay The not-so-good: It's very cramped for a full size safe -- shelves on the back will block any door-mounted options at the same height. Same with any large optics on rifles. It's tall enough but really ought to be 15-20% larger in width + depth. That would make it less claustrophobic but still be light enough for self-install. I have the same concerns with their slider-safe: bought one to mount on the side of my nightstand but the edge catches on the iron-sights of my compact if I'm not slow and careful on the draw... Not what you want for quick-access and it's clear that a red-dot is fully incompatible. The slider wouldn't need to be any taller or wider, just extend out an extra ~2 inches The door locks fine but isn't sealed well, I would caution anyone worried about long term storage in a high-humidity region. It's an electronic safe but there's no outlet available inside for plug-in moisture management Lastly, it's quite $$$. If they could make it larger at the same price point, I'd have bumped up this review to 4*

I've had safes from other manufacturers, and none come close to Vaultek, they are the best in my opinion. The Slider series works exceptionally well. Vaultek is the only manufacturer I trust.

Need to open a little more so a full size pistol with a red dot can come straight out. Plus the space / cut out in the back of the draw needs to be a little longer. That way a full size pistol can fit if it's equipped with a red dot otherwise the draw doesn't close.

Overall, Vaultek Safes are great products. I now own more than five, and they all perform as promised. Cool looking and great functionality. Customer Service is responsive and professional.

Safe was exactly what I needed. Had a brief problem where the safe alarm would go off about every 10 seconds constantly. Unplugged the power and pulled the battery for 24 hours and the alarm stopped. Has worked fine since.

Not worth the value for the money. Size is very small. Doesn’t fit much in it. If your AR has MODs good luck fitting more then 1. The door doesn’t open wide enough to make it a true quick grab safe. No fire rating. It’s just all round over priced for the value and use.

I appreciate how sturdy, streamlined and aesthetically pleasing the safe looks. Upon ordering I got two Nano keys which turned out to be not compatible with the bluetooth slider so I had to return and replace them. It would have been better to be specific with what accessories can work with a specific model so that these errors can be avoided. When setting up, although I did check the template against my pistol, i found that a staccato C2 which is the same size as a glock 19 or cz p10c could not fit in the drawer so I reached out to customer service for suggestions but I received a one liner reply that the interior cannot be reconfigured. I tried to do it on my own and found that if i put the pistol in diagonally instead of perpendicular to the floor, it would be a tight fit with the optic. Im just glad that a 400 plus dollar investment did not go to waste. I have it installed and found too that the drawer rattles in moderately rough road... this was not something I expected and it's a bit of a bother. All in all it's good to have a safe in the vehicle but I think product description/model naming, customer service and the rattling can be improved on.

Smart, easy to customize for personal use.

I own two of these slider safes, one about two years old and one recently purchased. I have the same experience with both. I love the slider function as well as the set up and installation. To open the safe, code entry thru push buttons is flawless. Where it loses one star is with the biometrics. Using biometrics with any finger on two peoples hands works only 75% of the time. I sent the first unit back two years ago and it came back with no improvement.
