Slider Series Universal Mount
Download the Universal Mount user manual >
Vehicle Placement: We recommend installing the vehicle mount on the backside of the passenger seat. You can adjust to suit your personal preference, but we’ve found this position to offer quick access by simply reaching behind the passenger’s set while in the driver’s position.
STEP 1 : Wrap around the seat
Using the strap and cam buckle provided, position the mounting plate behind the passenger seat, and wrap around the seat. Feed the loose end of the strap through the cam buckle and pull to a comfortable tightness so the mounting plate is not loose.
Depending on your seat size and configuration, the cam buckle will rest on the outside of the seat. This will minimize any interference with seating functions.
Tip! Use the strap ties provided to help organize excess strapping outside the cam buckle.
STEP 2 : Anchor security cable to vehicle
The included security cable secures the safe to your vehicle to help deter theft and help prevent common smash and grabs. It can wrap around any of the vehicle’s bracketry under the seat or loop around a fixed object your choice.
Using the collared end of the security cable wrap the cable around a fixed object or seat bracket and feed the collared end through the looped end of the cable to anchor in place.
STEP 3 : Attach security cable to mounting plate
After the security cable is anchored to your vehicle and looped around a fixed object, attach the security cable to the safe’s mounting plate.
Press and loose collared end of the cable into the mounting plate bottom. A threaded insert on the mounting plate goes through the open hole of the collar.
Use the provided security nut to tighten the cable onto the mounting plate and secure in place.
STEP 4 : Install safe onto mounting plate
Now that the mounting plate is securely in place and the security cable attached, the next step is installing your safe on the mounting plate just as you normally would. Open the safe and match the locking tabs on the plate with the corresponding slots on the safe.

Slider Series Car Rail Mount
Download the Rail Mount user manual >
Can I put my seat back? The results may vary depending on your car model. If you have any issues please email support@vaulteksafe.com.
Vehicle Placement: We recommend installing the vehicle mount on the outside rail of the passenger seat. You can adjust to suit your personal preference, but we’ve found this position to offer quick access by simply reaching behind the passenger’s set while in the driver’s position.
As a safety precaution, we recommend consulting with a certified automotive technician before installation.
STEP 1 : Install main bracket
Depending on your vehicle’s design, the vehicle mount offers (3) different position to secure the main bracket to your seat rail. Select your preferred setup, and install the main bracket. Instructions for each setup below.
- A) Install Rail (simplest)
- B) Existing Rail Hardware
- C) Existing Rail Hardware (alt.)
Tip! View your vehicle’s configuration and select which placement works best. You might need to bring the passenger seat forward to expose the rail and make your workspace roomier.
Option A : Installing Inside the Rail
1. Slide rail adapter into the open end of the rail.
2. Attach the main bracket by threading alan head screw through the main bracket’s center hole.
Tip! (3) Alan head screws are provided, select the one that fits best.
3. Firmly tighten the screw into the adapter plate. The friction between the adapter plate and your car’s seat rail holds the main bracket in place.
Option B : Using Existing Hardware
1. Remove outer frame rail bolt from your vehicle. This is beneath removable plastic covers on some late model vehicles.
2. Position the adapter bracket in place and reinstall the removed frame rail bolt. Tighten firmly.
3. Attach the main bracket to the adapter bracket using hardware provided. Tighten firmly.
Tip! Two holes sets are available in the adapter bracket to help you position the main bracket as close as possible to your seat back. This lessens how much safe protrudes.
4. Complete.
Option C : Using Existing Hardware (alt.)
1. Remove inner rail frame bolt on your vehicle.
2. Position the adapter bracket in rail and reinstall the removed frame rail bolt. Tighten firmly.
3. Attach the main bracket to the adapter bracket using hardware provided. Tighten firmly.
Tip! Two hole sets are available in the adapter bracket to help you position the main bracket as close as possible to your seat back. This lessens how much safe protrudes.
4. Complete.
STEP 2 : Attach mounting plate
Now that the main bracket is securely installed in your vehicle, the next step is attaching your mounting plate to the main bracket. The original mounting plate included with your safe will mount directly to the newly installed bracket, but additional mounting plates can be purchased separately.
Match (2) of the lower holes from the mounting plate with the main bracket. You can choose to offset the plate and select the (2) holes that suits your application. Install with the remaining hardware provided, only the outside hole in the main bracket will need the nut.
Tip! Before tightening the nut all the way the arced slot allows some adjustment of angle to suit your preference.
Tip! Additional mounting plates are available through our website to provide you with multiple mounting positions and helpful if the safe is transported often.
STEP 3 : Attach safe to mounting plate
Now that the mounting plate is securely installed on the main bracket, the next step is racking your safe on the mounting plate just as you normally would. Open the safe and match the locking tabs on the plate with the corresponding slots on the safe.
Tip! Slide passenger seat back in place as close to the safe as possible.

Fingerprint Programming Tips!
1) A programmed print consists of 3 registration scans during programming.
2) When scanning, be sure to aim the cuticle of your finger or thumb flat over the center of the scanner (this places the center of your fingerprint in the middle of the scanner).
3) In some cases different fingerprints may program better than others. For example, your index finger may not register very well, but your thumb may container higher detail levels and have a much higher success rate. We suggest to try different fingers and see if you have better results with your thumb.
4) When programming be sure to lift and reposition fingerprint at a difference angle during the 3 registration scans to store more print information.
5) Program your thumb two, three, or even four times. This stores more print information if your print is having troubles reading. As an example, you can program a print standing up, then another sitting down to trap different angles. You have 20 available slots for programming to use as needed.

Low Fingerprint Success Rate
If you are experiencing a low fingerprint success rate try the following steps. Note, this operation will unpair Nano Key 2.0 Biometric, and will delete all fingerprints. You can not individually delete fingerprints. After that you will program a new user using the helpful programming tips.
STEP ONE: Delete the Fingerprints in Nano Key 2.0 Biometric
1) Press and hold the top PROGRAM button for 3 seconds, until the LED ring starts glowing YELLOW. This is prompting you to scan the Admin print first. The Admin print is the first fingerprint enrolled in Nano Key 2.0 Biometric, and must be scanned to authorize the deletion of all prints.
2) A confirmation beep and GREEN LED ring confirms the delete is complete.
STEP TWO: Program a New Fingerprint into Nano Key 2.0 Biometric
Now program a new print into Nano Key 2.0 Biometric using the helpful tips below!
Tip! When scanning, be sure to aim the cuticle of your finger or thumb flat over the center of the scanner (this places the center of your fingerprint in the middle of the scanner).
Tip! In some cases different fingerprints may program better than others. For example, your index finger may not register very well, but your thumb may container higher detail levels and have a much higher success rate. We suggest to try different fingers and see if you have better results with your thumb.
Tip! When programming be sure to lift and reposition fingerprint at a difference angle during the 3 registration scans to store more print information.
Tip! Program your thumb two, three, or even four times. This stores more print information if your print is having troubles reading. As an example, you can program a print standing up, then another sitting down to trap different angles. You have 20 available slots for programming to use as needed.
You are now ready to program a new user!
The first programmed fingerprint is considered the Admin print. This print is necessary to authorize adding in additional users or to authorize the deletion of all prints.
TIP! Reposition the fingerprint on the scanner for each registration scan to trap varying angles and to store more print information.
