CVE-2017-17436
Vaultek has addressed a recently discovered security vulnerability. While a minimal risk exists for VT20i safe owners, concerned users can disable the Wireless access feature to eliminate the risk entirely.
This can be achieved using the available keypad toggle by pressing keys ‘2’ and ‘5’ simultaneously until all the keys ‘1-5’ light up red, followed by safe’s master code. This sequence can be repeated to turn the Wireless access on again. Once disabled, the Wireless access connection is off, and the safe is protected from unauthorized attacks.
Vaultek™ stands behind its products and customers and will make every effort to address security concerns. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and make any and all necessary updates.
